A first medical biology laboratory accredited in Madagascar

The Clinical Biology Centre of the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar becomes the first medical biology laboratory in the country accredited by the French Accreditation Committee

Since 1st December 2018, the Clinical Biology Centre (CBC) of the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar has been accredited by COFRAC, under accreditation number n°8-4166, according to the requirements of the international standard NF EN ISO 15189.

The CBC is a laboratory that fulfils the missions of a versatile biomedical analysis laboratory serving the public by offering the widest possible range of medical analyses carried out under the best conditions of speed, cost and reliability, 24 hours a day. The five sectors of its technical platform are hematology, microbiology, immunoserology, biochemistry and anatomo-cytopathology (anatomy and pathological cytology laboratory).

This accreditation attests the laboratory's managerial and technical competence. It guarantees the quality of the services and the reliability of the analysis results. This international recognition is the result of a quality approach initiated several years ago.

The scope of this CBC accreditation is available on the COFRAC website. It initially concerns general and specialized biochemistry and pre-post analytical phases, but will be updated regularly.

The panel of analyses carried out by the CBC is presented in the laboratory's catalogue. A sampling manual and analysis catalogue with all the recommendations for the pre-analytical stage of the analyses are also available online and in the laboratory.
