Heriarivelo Risite: "We are planning a nanotechnology research center in Madagascar"

At the YASE conference, on 6th July 2018 in Toulouse, Heriarivelo Risite, from the University of Toliara in Madagascar, presented the project of a new research centre for which he is responsible.

"The aim of this centre is to develop the use of Madagascar's natural resources: mineral, marine or vegetal. These resources can be transformed into nanomaterials, the impacts of which are already known throughout the world.

The Malagasy Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research supports the project. But for the moment we do not know how much money the Ministry will put in its implementation.

I am also in the process of applying for funding from associations or research centres or related institutions working to finance such projects.

There is also the issue of human ressources. That is why we have also planned to create a master's degree in materials engineering and nanotechnology that will guarantee the smooth running of this future centre."
