Young Scientists

What are the visions for science in Africa ? 6 - Marie-Monique Rasoazananera: improve the integration of young scientists

Dialogue between the public and private sectors is encouraged to create jobs for young researchers.

"The issue of professional opportunities for students, in relation to the needs of the private and public sectors, is a concern for those responsible for higher education, and also of interest for new doctors wherever they may be.

How can this situation be remedied and thus enable new doctors in Europe to integrate and partner with new doctors already in the country? This is a problem that must be addressed. First, we must create meeting platforms that lead to research and innovation. And that's what we do. Because it is important that stakeholders from academic research and from business can combine their efforts to support research and innovation.

Improve the employability and professional integration of young people, and adapt education and training programmes to the real needs of the economy, with a view to promoting decent employment and creating wealth in Madagascar.

And it is within this framework that local and foreign companies are involved in research and development activities. They are potential users of research products and results. This stimulates research and innovation.

For the past two years, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research has been facilitating the establishment of dialogue platforms for the promotion of research in partnership with the private sector. It is in this context that the International Labour Office, through a project to support the creation of decent work for research, has provided technical support in the process of setting up national platforms and regional frameworks for research, innovation and employment at the regional level."
